FAQs about CBD
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is a chemical compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant, which is also called marijuana or hemp. It is a natural product that may be used in oils and edibles to address various conditions ranging from pain/analgesia to relaxation.
CBD is available in different forms such as isolate, broad spectrum, and full spectrum. Isolate forms contain just one component of the sativa plant, such as CBD alone. Broad spectrum forms contain more of the cannabinoids found in the sativa plant, such as CBD, CBDA, CBN, etc. The addition of multiple cannabinoids in a broad spectrum formulation may enhance its effects. The full spectrum formulations contain a mixture of cannabinoids plus THC. The THC component is legal as long as the concentration of THC is below 0.3%.
Is CBD the same as marijuana?
The sativa plant or marijuana is made up of two main chemical compounds: CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is the chemical responsible for the euphoric or “high” feeling. Although CBD has similar properties, there is NO euphoric feeling associated with its use.
